Premiere Media Concepts’ Creative Director, JR Cronheim, has an incredibly eclectic resume encompassing work from behind the lens as well as in front of it. A graduate of Rowan University’s Film Production department with a B.A. in Communications and a graduate of New York Film Academy’s Documentary Conservatory program, JR’s professional experience has always been involved with media in one form or another. This has provided him with a unique and experienced perspective as a film maker. As an actor, he was regularly cast for MTV productions as well as many print and commercial advertisements for street wear style clothing. Only a few short years ago, he was cast as part of the Pro Keds sneakers 2010 video and photo lookbook.
As a former professional skateboarder, JR found himself constantly in front of the lens be it video or photography, and appeared in several internationally distributed magazines and videos.
“It gives me a better understanding as a director as to what my subjects are thinking and feeling.” says JR Cronheim. “It enables me to bring out the best in them, thereby capturing the right mood and those perfect moments that we are trying to achieve for a particular project.”
JR Cronheim spent years pursuing music professionally, both as a playing musician and as a world class DJ, sharing the stage with world renowned artists such as Felix the Housecat and Tommie Sunshine among many others. JR explains, “In the realm of music media, whether it be music video, stage performance, or live concerts, those personal experiences as a performer allow me to better communicate the emotion of music and performance as it translates to video. It’s imperative that your audience can see that emotion in what they are hearing in a perfect mesh of sound and images.”
An experienced business and brand manager, as well as marketing and PR consultant in his own right, JR Cronheim has produced extraordinary market results for not only himself as a business entity, but for many internationally sold brands headquartered in both New York City and Philadelphia respectively.
“Whether you’re branding and marketing a clothing line globally or starting a small business locally, the basic needs of the business owner remain the same,” JR explains. “It is up to the media company to invest the necessary time with each client to identify their specific goals, help them to effectively promote their products, grow their client base, and expand their respective business opportunities.”
In the realm of documentary film, his work as a director of photography has won awards including ‘Best Short Documentary’ at the Dreamland International Film Festival, and an award for ‘Technical and Artistic Merit’ at the New York-Los Angeles International Film Festival. In addition, films he has shot have screened at several other international festivals, one of which earned a feature article in The Huffington Post. His vast experience and skills in film and video production include writing, directing, shooting, editing, casting and producing.
